Kenny Jackett has said that Dany N’Guessan could be heading out of the New Den on loan.
Chris Powell is a long time admirer and with N’Guessan stating his deire to join the Addicks, The Valley would seem his most likly destination.
N’Guessan would probably be most effective as an impact sub at Championship level and his pace and power would be useful assets against a tiring defence.
The striker-cum-winger has netted 29 goals in his 177 league appearances but has a penchant for scoring debut goals.
Clearly, N’Guessan does not figure in Jackett’s plans, so a permanent move to The Valley in January is a distinct possibility. One thing Powell will have to consider is the timing of the move. The ’emergency’ loan wondow is now open and such loans can last for a maximum 93 days. If a player is signed today he would have to return to his parent club by 9 December, though he could be loaned to another club.
Charlton would have to wait until the end of the month to have continuity from loan to permanent deal without a break.
Powell may prefer to have N’Guessan at his disposal for next week’s derby game with Crystal Palace though. If so, N’Guessan would be missing for the Christmas period but available again in the new year, if a deal can be agreed with Millwall.
Another scenario for the manager to ponder, with N’Guessan hoping he can travel a few miles east to Charlton.
